Living outside Brazil: what KP reads in your chart

For KP, living outside Brazil is a matter for houses 9 and 12. House 12 shows life far from your homeland, and house 9 comes in alongside it when the move involves study or a long journey. The period in which the planets linked to these houses are active in your chart is when the method sees a path for the move.

The reason for going also counts. Studying, working and settling permanently add different houses. That is why the first thing to define is what you want to read.

The houses of living abroad in KP

KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) is the method of the Indian astrologer K. S. Krishnamurti. It reads each subject through a set of houses and through their significators, the planets that connect to those houses by their position and by the star they are in.

On leaving your homeland, Krishnamurti is direct. For someone who will leave their place of origin and their family to live in a foreign land, the reading is made through houses 9 and 12 (K. S. Krishnamurti, KP Reader III, p. 319). Two pages earlier, he details the reason for the stay:

House 3 appears in the departure because it is the house of leaving the residence. In the example in Reader VI, it is the house that shows the person leaving home for the long journey. The three together mark the timing of the move.

Three projects, three readings

Imagine three people with the same wish to leave.

The first one won a six-month scholarship. The project is to study and come back. The reading adds house 9, the house of higher education. For studies abroad to work out, Krishnamurti also requires that the significator of house 11 also signify house 9 or 12 (KP Reader III, p. 319).

The second one received a job offer in another country. Here houses 6 and 10 come in, the houses of service and profession.

The third one wants to settle abroad. The central question is house 12, life far from the homeland.

The wish is the same, and each project calls for its own reading. Defining the project first makes the answer more precise and easier to track later.

The when: dasha, bhukti and antara

KP uses the Vimshottari period system. The dasha is the major period, the bhukti is the sub-period within it and the antara is the next division. The event happens in the joint period of the significators, when these levels are ruled by planets linked to the houses of the subject, with transit confirming (K. S. Krishnamurti, KP Reader VI, p. 186).

The answer comes as a window by month and year. With it, you plan the steps that depend on you, such as the language exam and savings for the first months.

The chart reads your period
