An astrological prediction about a phase of life tells you which matters gain strength in that period and when each one tends to move. It talks about time: when the stretch begins, how long it lasts and what comes next. With that, you understand the moment you are in and plan the next step.
Life told in phases
In the KP method, which Vedik uses, life is a sequence of long phases, each ruled by a planet. Within each phase there are smaller stretches that last months. The phase gives the backdrop of years. The smaller stretch shows what is moving now.
The full sequence adds up to 120 years, and the starting point is the position of the Moon at the moment of birth (K. S. Krishnamurti, KP Reader I, p. 82). That is why each person enters each phase at a different age. Two 35-year-olds can be in very different moments, and one person's reading does not apply to the other.
If you want to get to know each phase by the name of its planet and what it usually brings, the phases of life page presents all of them.
What a phase reading answers
A good phase reading delivers concrete answers:
- which phase is active now and until when
- which matters in your chart it activates, such as work, home, money or relationships
- in which smaller stretch each matter tends to move
- when the next period begins
Notice that everything has a start date and an end date. That is what turns the reading into a calendar. At Vedik, VedikAI answers "when" questions in month and year, with the start and end of the stretch.
The phase you feel and the phase in the chart
In everyday life, "phase" is a way of describing what you are living through: a phase of adjustment, a phase of a lot of work. The phase in the chart is of a different nature. It is calculated, has a date to begin and a date to end, and has been in your chart since birth.
Sometimes the two coincide and you immediately recognize what the reading describes. Sometimes the shift in the chart arrives before you notice any change, and the effect shows up over the months. That is why the reading pays off more when you use it as a calendar, looking ahead.
How the answer appears in the 2027 Report
The 2027 Report (available in Portuguese) shows well how a phase reading turns into an answer. For each matter of the year, it gives a short highlighted sentence:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| THE CHART SHOWS A PATH. | Your chart shows a path to the matter, and the reading points to the favorable period of the year |
| THE CHART DOES NOT SHOW A PATH. | Your chart does not show a path to the matter. The chapter gives no months |
| NO CONCLUSION. | The calculation does not reach a conclusion for the matter, and the report says neither yes nor no |
| A YEAR OF WAITING. | In 2027 the chart does not open a period for the matter, and the report points to when the picture changes |
Each label says what the chart indicates for that matter in that year. "No conclusion" has its own meaning, explained in the post on how to read an answer with no conclusion.
A hypothetical example
Imagine a 34-year-old who has just entered a new phase. The reading shows that, within it, the stretch between March and September 2027 connects to the matter of a new job.
With this information, the person organizes the year in three stages:
- Before March: updates the résumé, reconnects with contacts, studies the market.
- From March to September: sends applications, takes conversations, negotiates.
- After September: reviews what happened and writes down the result.
The phase gave the backdrop. The stretch gave the moment to focus effort. The work of preparing is still up to the person.
Where your choice comes in
A phase reading shows the terrain of time: where there is an opening and where the moment calls for preparation. What you do on that terrain is your choice, and the last word is always yours.
It is also worth keeping what the reading said and checking it when the period is over. At Vedik, the Prediction Diary records what VedikAI predicted and later asks whether it happened, with the answers Yes, Partly or No.
To go further
If the phase you are going through is Saturn's, the post on the Saturn phase in life shows what it usually calls for. Anyone who wants to understand the technical structure of the smaller stretches will find everything in the guide to sub-periods.
