The Vedic chart is divided into 12 houses, and each one represents an area of life. The 1st is about you, the 2nd about your money, the 7th about partnerships, the 10th about your career. The planets show the forces at play. The houses show where they act.
What each house represents
These are the meanings Vedik's reading uses:

One question uses several houses
In the KP method, a subject almost never depends on a single house. The question is answered by a group of houses that work together. Two examples taken from Krishnamurti's books:
- Money coming in: houses 2, 6, 10 and 11 (KP Reader III, p.204). See money in the chart.
- Your own business: houses 2, 7 and 10. The 2nd shows what you acquire and the 7th shows clients and partners (KP Reader III, p.362). See starting your own business.
That is why, in KP, looking only at the 7th house to talk about marriage or only at the 10th to talk about work leaves the answer half done.
Where each house begins
KP measures the houses with the Placidus system, in which each house begins at an exact point in the sky, the cusp, and the houses have different sizes (KP Reader I, p.65). The point that decides whether the house favors the subject is the sub-lord of the cusp (KP Reader III, p.238). See cusp and sub-lord and house systems.
An empty house is not a weak house
A house with no planet keeps working. In KP, what speaks for it is the ruler of the cusp and the planets linked to that ruler. Read more in empty houses.
The houses in your reading
In Vedik's reading, each planet appears with the house it is in and what that house means. For a question about a subject, VedikAI uses the group of houses for that subject in your chart. The last word is always yours.
