A good free birth chart site makes three things clear before you fill out the form: which data it uses, which method it follows and what you get without paying. The best one for you depends on what you are looking for. If your goal is to understand the moment you are living so you can decide better, look for a chart that shows your cycles, in addition to your profile.
This guide is by Vedik. It lays out the criteria we use and shows, transparently, what our free reading delivers.
What to compare before you start
"Full chart" can mean many things. Sometimes the calculation is complete and the interpretation comes later, for a fee. These points are worth checking:
| Criterion | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Method | Tropical, sidereal, Vedic or KP, stated clearly |
| Data | Asks for date, time and city of birth |
| Delivery | Chart drawing, text, cycles, PDF or conversation |
| Free | What is included and what is paid |
| Language | Whether the text explains the terms in plain language |
| Privacy | How your data is stored |
A good service shows the limits of the free tier right from the start, before you sign up.
Why results change from one site to another
If you have already had your chart done somewhere else, you may find different signs and houses. The cause is almost always the configuration, and each choice has its own tradition.
Western astrology usually uses the tropical zodiac. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, aligned with the stars, with a correction called the ayanamsa. The house system also changes the result. To compare two charts, compare these choices too. See how the ayanamsa changes the calculation.
What Vedik's free reading delivers
Vedik uses the KP method, from the Indian astrologer K. S. Krishnamurti, with its own calculation engine. The positions of the planets come from the Swiss ephemeris, with Krishnamurti's own ayanamsa and Placidus houses. The time zone and the daylight saving time in effect when you were born are applied automatically.
The free reading shows five parts:
- The three main positions. The start of your chart, in direct language.
- Your guiding star. The star of Vedic astrology that marks your birth.
- Map of the houses. The areas of life and what each one gathers in your chart.
- Where your planets are. Sign, house and star of each planet.
- Your planetary cycles. The phase and sub-period you are in now, how long they last and which one comes next.
The last part is the one that helps most with deciding. It shows the point in the cycle where you are. Vedik turns your chart into clarity for decisions, in plain language and without requiring you to study astrology first.
The rules of the free tier
- One free chart of your own per account. An additional chart of your own costs 4 credits.
- No card required. You create your account and see the result in seconds.
- Your birth time is required. Without it, the houses change and the reading loses its foundation, so the form only accepts a chart with a time.
If you do not know your birth time, see where to start looking. Do not enter just any time to move forward. A good interpretation does not fix wrong starting data.
What is paid, and when it makes sense
Going deeper is worth it when you can say what is missing.
- A specific question. VedikAI answers why, what and when based on the reading of your chart. Each question costs 1 credit, and credits do not expire. The weekly and monthly sub-periods are found here.
- A view of the phases ahead. Your free reading already shows your cycles, the current phase and which one comes next. You can create it here before deciding whether to go further.
The free reading is complete on its own. You only pay if you want to go beyond it.
A simple test for any reading
After reading, can you explain what you received, how it was calculated and where it helps with your decision? If the answer is yes, the site did its job. Vedik shows what the method indicates. The last word is always yours.
